La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the English centre-back is on Emery’s radar

Fikayo Tomori is on his way out of AC Milan, and Aston Villa are now seriously interested in the English centre-back. Following Ezri Konsa’s move to Arsenal for a fee of around €58 million, the Birmingham-based side have begun working to reorganize their defence, looking for a player with the right technical characteristics.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, initial contacts have taken place between the two clubs to assess the feasibility of a potential deal. The transfer could bring Milan just over €10 million, while also giving the No. 23 the opportunity to return to the Champions League.

Unai Emery reportedly appreciates the player and considers him an experienced profile with the qualities needed to contribute to the reigning UEFA Europa League champions.

After turning down several potential destinations, the former Chelsea defender could now be seriously considering such an ambitious opportunity. However, the next few hours will be crucial to determine whether the conditions are in place for the negotiations to progress and potentially be completed quickly.

Meanwhile, Milan are working on the signing of an international-level centre-back to strengthen their defence. This appears to be one of the club’s absolute priorities at the moment, with the management at Via Aldo Rossi working tirelessly on the request of Rúben Amorim.

Gonçalo Inácio is one of the names that has been mentioned frequently, but particular attention should also be paid to players who have not previously featured in the summer transfer window rumours.

The Rossoneri have already shown that they can surprise the market with unexpected targets—Diego Moreira being a clear example.
