Milan is very close to finalizing the signing of the Belgian winger from Strasbourg

In a dramatic turn of events in Milan’s transfer market: Diego Moreira is very close to wearing the Rossoneri jersey in the upcoming season. The Belgian winger, currently with Strasbourg, has chosen the team coached by Ruben Amorim after holding talks with several European clubs. According to information gathered by our editorial staff, the transfer of the 2004-born player is very close to being finalized, with just a few details still to be worked out for the full agreement. Medicals have already been scheduled.

Surprise Move: watch out for Leao

Over the past few days, we’ve discussed the possibility that the club was working on a deal involving a player whose name had never appeared in the newspapers, and now we have direct confirmation of this scenario. A top-tier signing, the perfect player for Amorim’s technical and tactical philosophy, who can deploy him in both attacking midfield & wingback roles. However, the fact that the young player prefers to start on the left will raise further questions about the future of Rafael Leao, who at this point seems increasingly headed out of the Rossoneri’s world.

Moreira’s Numbers

179 cm of pure talent, a Belgian with a Portuguese passport. He played 42 games for the club last season, across the Conference League and the French league, scoring 5 goals and providing 9 assists, many seeing him as a potential star. Rudi Garcia has been criticized for not using him more consistently in recent games.

He arrived in Strasbourg from Chelsea after being signed from Lyon; the French club has long served as a feeder team for the English side. In Strasbourg, the Rossoneri had already scouted Guela Doué and are now targeting Moreira, a long–time target of Roma, which later shifted its focus to Summerville.

45 games played from the left, 34 on the right: he’s ambidextrous and makes an impact on both flanks. Milan is very close to signing him.

The deal is expected to be worth between 40 and 50 million euros.
