Milan push to speed up talks for German midfielder Leon Goretzka
Leon Goretzka is not just one of Milan’s main transfer targets – he is the priority. The Rossoneri are waiting for the German midfielder’s response after submitting their formal proposal, along with the other clubs currently in the race for him. A decision is expected in the coming weeks, likely between next week and mid-May. These will be crucial days in understanding which team the Bayern Münich midfielder will choose, with interest in him coming from several clubs across Europe’s top leagues as well as from Asia.
The latest from Gianluca Di Marzio
Speaking on Sky Sport 24, Gianluca Di Marzio explained that Milan are pushing hard to convince the 1995-born midfielder to wear the Rossoneri shirt next season. The club are even prepared to further adjust their offer if needed over the next few days. Confidence is growing inside Casa Milan, although caution remains necessary. Still, there is increasing optimism surrounding the deal.
Goretzka is therefore becoming one of the hottest names on the market, especially in Italy, where both Milan and Juventus are battling for the player. Milan know they are facing a difficult challenge, but they also believe they have gone above and beyond in trying to convince him. The club feel they have presented both a strong sporting project and a financial package worthy of a top player. While the figures may not match what other clubs could offer, Milan’s proposal is still considered elite-level, and the contract length on the table is reportedly longer than what is usually offered to a player of his age.
When the decision is expected
In the Champions League semifinals against Paris Saint-Germain, Goretzka is expected to start on the bench, while in the Bundesliga he remains a regular starter and one of the team’s most important figures. His final decision is likely to arrive around those two European fixtures – either before or after the double-header against Paris Saint-Germain. Even if talks were to drag on, the expectation is that clarity will come before the start of June’s international tournament with Germany.
Milan are pressing, the signs are becoming more encouraging, and Goretzka’s decision now looks set to shape a major part of the summer market.
