AC Milan's forward Rafael Leao on Portugal's duty

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals a scenario involving the Rossoneri No. 10 and a Blues player who could be on his way out

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rafael Leao’s future remains one of the most complicated dossiers on AC Milan’s table. The Portuguese forward is at the centre of a transfer situation fueled by the interest of several agents and intermediaries, with different options overlapping without yet producing a definitive solution.

Leao continues to wait for a concrete opening in the Premier League, while Galatasaray have not stopped monitoring him after months of pursuing the player. However, the Turkish option remains complicated by the financial gap between the two clubs’ valuations.

Milan-Galatasaray: the gap in valuation

The Istanbul club has not increased its €35 million offer, including bonuses, which was already presented through a well-known intermediary and rejected by Milan. The Rossoneri have meanwhile adjusted their position, lowering their valuation to between €40 million and €45 million.

Galatasaray are taking their time and appear to believe they can afford to wait, confident in a negotiating position they consider favourable. However, the transfer market, especially when it enters its decisive stages, can change direction very quickly.

Leao-Chelsea: the Pedro Neto connection

It is in this context that the most surprising possibility has emerged. According to Gazzetta, another agent is attempting to build an all-Portuguese scenario: Leao to Chelsea as a replacement for Pedro Neto.

Al Hilal and Manchester City are monitoring the Blues forward. Should Neto eventually leave Chelsea, this could create the space needed for Leao to move to London. It would be a complicated operation, but certainly a more ambitious scenario than a move to Turkey.

Cardinale expected in Italy, Saudi Arabia still in the background

Leao is going to meet Gerry Cardinale on Friday, with the RedBird chief set to return to Italy on Thursday, according to La Rosea. The Portuguese forward, moreover, is not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Milan and the player are waiting for a breakthrough, with time running out. Chelsea and Galatasaray remain plausible destinations, but Saudi Arabia could still return to the picture at the last minute, as confirmed in the overnight video from transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto.
