Jorge Mendes and AC Milan’s management meet after Moreira’s signing
Jorge Mendes and his agency Gestifute are ready to play an important role once again in AC Milan’s transfer market. The Portuguese agent and intermediary, widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the world, has been behind two of the Rossoneri’s three incoming deals during this transfer window: Goncalo Ramos and Diego Moreira, who will sign his five-year contract with the Rossoneri at Casa Milan this morning.
Mendes could be a key factor for AC Milan’s market
The player’s agent will be present for the occasion, having arrived in Italy today with Rodrigo Mora to accompany him during his first day in Rome. According to Fabrizio Romano, Mendes has a series of meetings scheduled with Milan’s management to discuss several transfer situations that are developing on both the incoming and outgoing fronts in these final hours of the window.
The potential moves
Gestifute represents Pervis Estupinan, whom the club would like to move elsewhere before the end of the transfer window in order to potentially strengthen the wide areas even further. The agent has also been working behind the scenes to help Milan find a solution for Rafael Leao, although the forward continues to stress that his future is being handled exclusively by his lawyers and family.
Alongside these potential departures, there will inevitably be discussions about Milan’s incoming business. The Rossoneri want to complete two more signings in the coming days and could once again rely on the influence of the powerful Portuguese agent, who has been working in close harmony with Ruben Amorim throughout this summer transfer window.
Ramos and Moreira may therefore not be the only Milan deals involving Mendes during this transfer window. Although the market is almost over, in some respects it feels as though it has only just begun.
His relationships with Portuguese clubs could also prove important. The complicated situation surrounding Santiago Gimenez could potentially be unlocked through Mendes’ intervention.
